Privacy Policy

The short version
Our apps don't collect your data. There are no accounts, no analytics, no tracking, no advertising networks, and nothing about you is sent to us or anyone else. What happens on your phone stays on your phone. That's it.
This policy covers LookyHere and the other mobile apps published by Teal in a Box (the studio of Nicholas Teal). We've kept it in plain English because privacy policies shouldn't need a lawyer to read.
What we collect
Nothing. We don't ask you to create an account, we don't ask for your name, email, or any personal details, and we don't run any analytics or tracking software inside our apps. We have no way of knowing who you are or how you use the app, and we like it that way.
What's stored on your device
To remember your preferences between sessions, the app saves a few simple settings locally on your phone only — for example whether sound is muted, whether the brightness boost is on, and whether you've seen the welcome hint. This information never leaves your device and is never sent to us. Uninstalling the app removes it.
Permissions & device features
LookyHere uses a few device features purely to make the app work. None of them collect or transmit any data:
- Motion sensor (accelerometer) — to detect a shake of the phone so you can swap to the next character. Readings are used live and never stored or sent.
- Screen brightness — so the optional "brightness boost" can make the screen easier to see outdoors. This only changes your screen; no data is involved.
- Audio — to play the optional character sounds. Sound is generated on the device and is muted by default.
Internet & offline use
LookyHere is designed to work fully offline — all animations are built into the app, so it doesn't need a connection and never fetches content in the background. The only time the app touches the internet is if you tap a link to one of our other products or websites (such as Group Shot Star or tealinabox.com), which opens your phone's web browser and leaves the app.
Links to other sites
Where the app links out to a website, that site is governed by its own privacy policy, not this one. We only ever link to our own studio pages and products.
Children's privacy
LookyHere is a tool for photographers, and is often shown to young children to capture their attention. Because the app collects no personal information whatsoever — from anyone, of any age — it is safe for use around children and complies with children's privacy rules including the Children's Online Privacy Protection Act (COPPA), the UK/EU GDPR provisions for children, and Google Play's Families policy. We do not knowingly collect data from children because we do not collect data from anyone.
Advertising
Our apps contain no third-party advertising and no ad-tracking. You may see us mention our own other apps inside the app, but that's just a link — there's no ad network, no profiling, and nothing tracked.
Changes to this policy
If we ever change how our apps handle data, we'll update this page and change the "last updated" date above. Since our apps don't collect data, we don't expect major changes — but if that ever changes, you'll see it here first.
